Lalanga KieTonga Kupesi Hiapo from Tonga Lapita Origin 😊
Thank you! Bought a breadfruit from the fruit stand on a whim, and this video was very helpful. I made a delicious ulu salad, and I never would have thought of that.
Does Ma'afala become sweet when it becomes soft?
Mom always called it mapen. Boil, cut in small cubes, then eat with shoyu & oil. (Just like eating gineos - boiled green bananas). So ono!! Mahalo Sam Choy, you da best!
YOU HAVE FLOUR ULU SO DO YOU USE THE FLOUR INSTEAD OF REGULAR FLOUR TO MAKE BREAD? THANK YOU
Very valuable internship Niki
Thanks 😊
When you said 'a very beautiful story' ...my heart smiled because I can hear the tilts and smile in your voice, I heard my Grandad Tauatuku Terekia Po'ona who left this world in 2016 to continue his mahi beyond the veil. Nga mihi, matua
In my country we used it to make fufu swallow.
Thank you very much for the educative video. I would like to grow this fruit tree in our country Malawi..
Beautifully done. I really enjoyed this.
After boiling in the hot water, ulu taste like sweet chestnuts , very yummy.

Wow awesome ideas and ways in which I can use the breadfruit thank you for sharing..
That is easily the cleanest kitchen I've EVER seen!! Wow! Everything is absolutely spotless! The equipment, tongs, steamers, fryers, stoves,...everything is completely stainless!! I'm really impressed with how clean everything is. I want to eat it all and I'm sure it's delicious. Mad respect for the staff there in that place. Anyone who puts that much pride in their kitchen must cook amazing food! I've never had breadfruit before but this looks like the place to go to eat it for the 1st time. I really want to eat here!

We roast it before we fry it
ripe breadfruit is made into a drink adding other ingredients nutmeg , vanilla , cinnamon, coconut milk , honey or brown sugar , little rum for flavouring 😂 etc It is a aphrodisiac in Kenya
roast uncut breadfruit over open flame and cut off blackened skin eat as is or fry in chips
Great video! Super informative
You can make a very tasty juice with the breadfruit also. You broil it first, and you put it in a blender, and add can milk, sugar, vanilla, a little salt and blend together . It's so tasty and healthy. If you want you can put a banana too. I love it .
I have a project working on for the last two years. It is an agro-processing plan based on the cultivation of acres and acres of pure-stand breadfruit cultivation ..all around the island.. for local consumption as described in the vidio...for preparation and use at home... which will give farmers added income.. food sdcurity for JamIca ...and foreign exchange earnings....from export to the Diaspora...and as a substitute for white wheat flour...(breadfruit flour has no luten)..around the world.....(to avoid future food chain blockages)... and thus providing Jamaica...with sustainable...national...food security ... industrialization....and much-needed growth and development in agro-industry....I know we can griw the breadfruit .(my grandfather was the only man I know who planted two actres of pure-stand breadfruit back in the 1920s...) and I know many areas and parusges in Jamaica..which are excellent for breadfuit cultivation. I only hope that the Ministry of Agriculture and Industry... the Scientific Research Council....the Bureau of Standards and RADA...have seen this video and are planning to move agead with our breadfruit as they are doing in Zanzibar and Haiwai....Winston G.
it make a very delicious drink also
The breadfruit can be smashed, add butter and herbs mix well till smooth then served with stew or plenty gravy. Delicious !!!
Haven't had breadfruit since the 80s...no breadfruit here in Newfoundland. *sigh*...your video is as close as I'll get! Thank you!
Backside every body eating breadfruit now
I won’t to bay some I miss this thing!
Great video man
Sell me some of them.
Nice video, I love it.
I made ulu fruit soup ( like pumpkin soup) add cooked pieces chicken, coconut milk, ginger, and served to my guests.... delicious!!!!
Samoans in Samoa do not eat ripe ulu fruits. Only the non ripe or matured ulu. Perhaps because it is abundantly available. One can ask neighbor or extented family members for ulu fruits.... As for the ripe ulu fruit it is for the horses or pigs. I always remind my family to cook a ripe ulu fruit in the UMU / HOT STONECOOKING for me as it is a way of eating ulu fruit in Hawaii. ITS AN UNUSUAL REQUEST, TO THE COOK
Hahaha the Polynesians have very strong bones because they eat ULU/ BREADFRUITS. It is ONE TRUE ORGANIC FRUIT. ..LIGHT IN CARB COMPARE TO TARO AND SPICEY TARO, MANIOCA, AND YAM.
